Background:

After taking classes in clay modelling for six years, I decided, after a professional turning point, to become a potter. What I wanted most of all it was to learn turning on the pottery wheel. I trained in artist's workshop in Ecouen (94) with J.Claude Vertongen. In this workshop, I learned drawing, painting and observation.
In 2003, I set up my first studio in Claye-Souilly (77), and in 2005 I chose to establish myself in the Perigord. My passion for work on the pottery wheel has not weakened, and in January, 2010 I took a class turning large pieces, with Francis Guillon (44).

I observe, I draw, I knead, I turn and I try to find ornamental and utilitarian forms.

I orient my forms to the container, the table centrepiece, the vase, the pitcher, and I enjoy making lamp bases. All my pieces are unique, since they are turned or worked from a slab. I like when a person looks at one of my pieces and, because it has this little something that the others do not have, she makes it her own. After having worked only with faience, I also started to model sandstone from Roche-Chalais (24). I adjusted glazes in the studio. I wanted to find my own colour, so I usedchalk, feldspar, silica, kaolin and oxides of copper, cobalt or tin to do so. I always put on my glazes with a brush because it gives depth to the colours and helps give each piece its unique character.

Something new, which I set up this year, is jewellery made of porcelain (Paper Clay). The work is restful and ideas come with the peacefulness of the material. This white that contrasts with the colours of my cera-mics, settles me and makes me work the smallest object in ceramics, the pearl. It is another way for me to express myself.
